Match Report - 15 Nov 2008, Borden Village FC 1st XI lost to Malgo

A goal mid way through the second half was enough to see the visitors from Maidstone take all three points on Saturday At the start play was pretty even with both sides creating a number of half chances and after 20 mins it was Borden who broke through and looked certain to score but Scott Forsters effort was parried away by the visiting keeper Minutes later it was Malgo who edged in front when their two main strikers combined beautifully to drive the ball firmly past the keeper The home side pressed forward in search of an equaliser and were rewarded ten minutes before the break and the goal came about as a result of a long throw by Alan Whitehead who delivered deep into the box and Chris Feliniack was well positioned at the far post to head home For ten minutes after the break Borden enjoyed a good spell but as the game went on it was Malgo who looked the most likely to score and keeper Michael Neat kept Borden’s hopes alive with a number of outstanding saves however with 20 mins remaining Borden’s defence was unlocked allowing Malgo in for what proved to be the winner
