Match Report - 25 Nov 2017, Borden Village FC 1st XI beat New Romney

The villagers bounced back from their defeat the previous week to gain a comprehensive win over visitors New Romney and it was the visitors who took the lead after 10 mins with a well worked goal. Borden equalised 5 mins later when Jay Law headed home a Lee Sayer free kick and then took the lead when the visitors keeper tried to clear the ball only to miss the ball which into an empty net. After the break new signing Tyla Clements found Ashley Baverstock who drove home from the edge of the box. Bordens keeper Karl Rooke then saved a penalty and the home side went further ahead with a fine individual effort from Clements. With ten minutes remaining man of the match Clements scored his second and Bordens 5th with the 3 points taking them up to 4th in the table.
