Match Report - 19 Aug 2017, Borden Village FC 1st XI beat Staplehurst and Monarchs
The villagers secured their first points of the season with a convincing win against visitors Staplehurst. Borden started well and had the larger share of possession and on the half hour took the lead with well taken goal from Jay Law. For the remainder of the half the home side should have added to the score but were guilty of wasting a number of chances. Following the break Borden scored again this time through Lewis McCrory but within minutes the visitors reduced the arrears. Mid way through the half Issac Hancock restored Borden’s 2 goal advantage but ten minutes later a defensive lapse allowed the visitors to score their second. With ten minutes remaining the issue was put beyond doubt when Hancock scored his second securing the points for Borden and moving them up in to 5th place.
Next week Borden travel to Farnborough OB Guild for a 2.45 ko.
