Match Report - 29 Apr 2017, Borden Village FC 1st XI beat Greenways

Borden Village came away from Gravesend on Saturday with all three points against a Greenways side that have been challenging for the title all season.
Straight from the kick off the villagers played some of their best football of the season making the title challengers defend in numbers for long periods. Borden took the lead after 20 mins when Tommy Price found space to fire home and give his side the lead which they held on to when they went in for half time. The second half saw Greenways push more men forward in search of an equaliser and mid way through the half Borden’s stand in keeper Sam Brown who had a fine game was given no chance when Greenways found the net with a powerful shot from the edge of the box. With ten minutes remaining Borden’s Jack Sayer broke up an attack and play the ball through to  Liam Baxindale who steered  the ball past the advancing keeper to secure a fine win for the villagers.
