Borden Village FC

Match Report

Match Report - 25 Mar 2017, Borden Village FC 1st XI drew with Farnborough OB Guild

Having missed a number of good scoring opportunities throughout the game Borden had to settle for a point in a game which they controlled throughout.  After ten minutes  they had the home side pinned in their own half and five mins later  took the lead when Ross  Frost headed home a Joe Sands corner . It looked like Borden were going to add to the score line but desperate defending and excellent goalkeeping kept the villagers at bay Even when Borden did carve out clear opportunities they lacked the clinical finish and after several missed chances were punished when the home side equalised against the run of play after Borden failed to clear their lines. The second period was much the same with villagers well on top but guilty of missing chances when it looked easier to score and a determined  Farnborough were able to hold on to earn a  share of the spoils. Next week Borden are competing in the final of the Kent Intermediate Charity Shield against top of the league Punjab United and the final will be held on Sheppey Utd  ground 7.00pm ko
