Match Report - 25 Feb 2017, Borden Village FC 1st XI beat Faversham Strikeforce

Borden have now secured maximum points from their last five league matches and Saturday’s win in the local derby against Faversham S F maintains their position in third place in their quest for league honours. During the opening half hour both teams had scoring opportunities but neither managed to find the net the villagers having the lions share of possession but with Faversham looking dangerous on the break. Ten minutes before half time the villagers broke the deadlock when Jack Sayer making his debut headed on a long throw from Reiss Crimmen and Ross Frost was at hand to head home. Two minutes before the break Borden increased their lead when Joe Sands headed home a cross from Ashley Baverstock. The second half was spoilt by a strong wind making the ball difficult to control on the all weather pitch resulting in both defences coming out on top with no further goals.
