Match Report - 20 Aug 2016, Borden Village FC 1st XI beat Erith 147 Sports

In their first away game of the season Borden came away with all three points to register their second successive win and head the Premier Division table. The game started evenly and one or two issues caused by the home sides direct approach were ably dealt with by the Borden defence but it was the villagers who began to look the more likely to score by creating a number of half chances but were unable to apply the finishing touch. On the half hour Paul Teague received a red card after making a strong challenge and the visitors were down to ten men but quickly reorganised and continued having the lions share of possession and not allowing the home side to take advantage of the extra man Ten minutes after the break Sam Brown gave the villagers a deserved lead following good work from Tommy Price. Erith responded by coming forward in numbers in search of an equaliser but in so doing exposed themselves to the counter attack and with fifteen minutes remaining Joe Sands broke down the right and found the unmarked Tommy Price who coolly slotted home.
