Match Report - 14 May 2016, Borden Village FC 1st XI beat Guru Nanak

The villagers made sure that Premier Football would be played at Borden next season with a comprehensive victory over their visitors from Gravesend. Although the home side began to press in the early stages it was the visitors who took an early lead with two breakaway goals The home side however found themselves level on the half hour with two penalties awarded within 10 mins. Sam Brown despatched both into opposite corners to level the scores. Ten mins after the break the visitors went in front again with a superb 25 yarder which flew past keeper Charlie Donoghue into the top corner but this spurred the villagers into life and shortly afterwards George Latham fired home the equaliser. Minutes later Borden took the lead for the first time with a goal from Joe Sands and five minutes later the keeper failed to hold a shot from Steve Goldsmith which squirmed over the line. Borden were now in the driving seat and a double from substitute Ashley Taylor completed the rout.
