Match Report

Match Report - 16 Apr 2016, Borden Village FC 1st XI lost to Snodland Town

A recent run of poor results mainly due to injuries and work commitments have seen the Villagers being sucked into the relegation zone. Although a depleted Borden side took to the field on Saturday the first period saw them put up a spirited display against high flying Snodland Town. In the opening 20 mins there was little to chose between the teams but mid way through the half Snodland took the lead scoring from close in. For the remainder of the half Borden worked hard in search of an equaliser but failed to penetrate a strong defence. Following the break the visitors piled on the pressure and began to find gaps in the home defence who conceded 2 goals in as many minutes. From then on Borden were on the back foot and although Borden’s keeper Charlie Donoghue made some tremendous saves to keep the score line down he could do little to stop a further 4 goals being added to a slightly flattering result for the visitors. Next week Borden are at home to bottom of the table Tudor Sports a match that the villagers need to win.
