Match Report - 16 Jan 2016, Borden Village FC 1st XI lost to Peckham Town
Peckham Town won through to the next round defeating the villagers by 4 goals to two. Play was mostly even during the opening stages but the villagers looked the more likely to score and this was confirmed after 20 mins when Sam Brown put through George Latham to fired into the bottom corner and give the villagers the lead Ten mins later they increased their lead when Latham fired in a fierce drive that the keeper failed to hold and spun out of his hands and over the line. Borden looked to be in the driving seat but 5 mins before the break Peckham headed home from a corner to set up what turned out to be a feisty second half. Straight after the break disaster struck when a defensive mistake gave the visitors the opportunity to equalise. Peckham were aware that the goal had unsettled Borden and sensing a win piled on the pressure to put the villagers on the back foot. With 20 mins remaining Peckham grabbed a third but the villagers were not giving up and Ross Frost had a header disallowed for an infringement in the box. With 5 mins remaining and with Borden pushing men forward Peckham broke away to score a fourth and gain a place in the quarter- finals.
