Match Report - 10 Oct 2015, Borden Village FC 1st XI drew with Fleetdown United
The villagers shared the spoils at Fleetdown on Saturday, but will reflect back on a game of missed chances. Although the first half belonged to Borden they found it difficult to break down a resolute home defence. The nearest they got to scoring was when Ashley Baverstock ran on to a through ball rounded the keeper only to see his effort sail over the croosbar.. The second period was much the same but as the half went in the villagers began to find gaps in the home defence and create a number of chances that were either saved by the keeper or went wide of the target. The last fifteen saw both George Latham and Baverstock break through but the keeper produced some fine saves to keep his side in the game. At the final whistle it was the villagers who were the most disappointed as they felt that it was two points dropped rather than one gained.
