Match Report

Match Report - 19 Sep 2015, Borden Village FC 1st XI lost to Guru Nanak

Borden went out of the Kent Intermediate Challenge Shield at Gravesend after they suffered a third successive defeat. Missing several regulars Borden went 1-0 down after 20 minutes, the home side scoring with a header from a corner. The home side then scored a second near half time from a dubious penalty and although two down Borden had three or four chances to score in the first half. Borden then continued to press Guru but were undone by two breakaways to go 4-0 down. George Latham had a goal disallowed and then Joe Sands scored with a drive from the edge of the area. As Borden pushed forward to get back in the game, they created several more chances but the home side scored two more goals in the last couple of minutes to seal victory although on balance the final score did not totally reflect the game.
