Match Report - 25 Apr 2015, Borden Village FC 1st XI beat Erith 147 Sports
The villagers entertained Erith 147 on Saturday knowing that a win would still keep them in with a chance of competing for the runners up spot in their first ever season in the Kent County Premier Division. In the opening stages the villagers had the lions share of possession but the visitors well organised defence proved difficult to break down. The home side won a number of corners and it was from one of these that Erith failed to clear and Paul Teague pounced to rifle in from short range at the second attempt. Following the break Borden continued to press and Ben Taylor thought he had scored but his goal bound header was blocked on the line by one of his own team mates. Mid way through the half Teague converted again following good work by Sam Brown and Jay Law but like most of the opposition this season Erith never gave up and ten minutes from time broke away to reduce the arrears. With the minutes ticking away George Latham produced a fine save from the keeper but at the final whistle it was 3 points for the villagers.
