Match Report - 06 Apr 2015, Borden Village FC 1st XI lost to Metrogas
On Easter Monday the villagers entertained champions elect Metrogas in front of a large crowd at the playstool. Borden whose last league defeat was at Metrogas earlier in the season were out to redress the balance and those present saw an entertaining game of football with no quarter given by either side. With play being end to end it was the visitors who broke the deadlock on the half hour with a swift break down the right the cross being steered in at the near post. Five minutes after the break the villagers scored a fine equaliser when Paul Teague headed in from Steve Goldsmiths cross. For the remainder of the game both sides carved out chances but as the minutes ticked away a draw seemed to be on the cards but disaster struck with the referee looking at his watch the current champions launched one final attack and scored the winner in time added on.
