Match Report - 03 Apr 2015, Borden Village FC 1st XI beat APM Contrast Reserves

Borden Village made history on Good Friday by being the first team ever to win the WCCS for the third year in succession. Straight from the kick off the villagers put their opponents under pressure but despite the lions share of possession failed to penetrate a resolute defence. Borden went close on a number of occasions and Ben Taylor saw his header cannon off the bar and scrambled away. The second period was much the same but the breakthrough came on the hour when Liam Baxindale scored with a diving header from Sam Browns corner. The villagers tried to add to their tally but APM defended in numbers and rarely troubled the villagers but the goal proved decisive in the end and the Shield returned to Sittingbourne with Sam Brown winning the Man of the Match award
