Straight from the kick off the villagers attacked strongly forcing the visitors on the defensive and after five minutes George Latham intercepted a back pass and rounded the keeper give his side the lead. Ten minutes later Sam Brown volleyed in from 20 yards and the floodgates opened. Tom Green was next on the score sheet when he fastened on to a poor clearance and fired into the bottom corner. Ten minutes before the break Ashley Baverstock broke down the left and his pin point cross was headed home by Latham. Mins before the break Latham completed his hat trick following good work by Liam Baxindale. The second half saw the visitors pull one back from a corner which deceived everyone including Borden’s keeper Charlie Donoghue and minutes later they grabbed a second when the Borden defence lost concentration. However straight from the restart Ross Frost set up Paul Teague to score Borden’s sixth. Teague got his second when Baxindale put him through and the goals continued when Baverstock drew the keeper and scored number 8. With minutes remaining the hard working Baxindale was rewarded with a goal which completed the rout and took the villagers up to 4th Place in the Premier Division. Borden have a busy Easter starting on Good Friday when they meet APM Res. in the final of the Weald of Kent Charity Cup ( Senior Section ) at Ashford United ground ko. 11.00 am followed by a home match on Easter Monday against league leaders Metrogas 2.45 ko.
