Match Report - 14 Feb 2015, Borden Village FC 1st XI beat Sittingbourne Community

The current holders of the WKC eased into the semi finals for the third season in succession following a convincing victory over Sittingbourne Community. In the opening stages it was the Villagers who adapted quickest to the heavy pitch and forced the home side to defend in numbers. After 15 mins George Latham broke clear to put his side in the lead and 5 mins later when SC failed to clear a corner Ashley Baverstock was at hand to hammer home. On the half hour Ross Frost made it three and Latham got his second just before the break. Within five minutes of the restart Latham completed his hat trick but SC showed plenty of character and never gave up against their Premier opponents, and were rewarded fifteen minutes from the end with a well taken consolation. With minutes remaining Latham managed to net his fourth and Borden’s sixth to send them into a semi final tie against New Romney.
