Match Report - 29 Nov 2014, Borden Village FC 1st XI lost to Otford United

Borden failed to give their Division 1 opponents the respect they deserved, and it was Otford that did enough to win through to the next round. The first half saw the villagers have plenty of possession but were unable to penetrate a determined Otford defence. George Latham Paul Teague and Sam Brown all had opportunities but the first half remained goalless. The second period was much the same but on the hour it was the opposition who went in front with a dipping 25 yard drive that flew past Borden ‘s keeper Charlie Donoghue and into the net. As much as the home side tried to find openings few chances fell to them and with ten minutes remaining the visitors counter attacked and were rewarded with another goal. There was no coming back from the villagers who struggled to find their form of late and to be fair Otford edged it on the day.
