Borden Village FC

Match Report

Match Report - 13 Sep 2014, Borden Village FC 1st XI drew with Guru Nanak

An equalizer in injury time gave Borden a deserved share of the points in the NRG Gyms Kent County League Premier Division game on Saturday. Last season’s promoted clubs continued to be evenly matched although the home side were on top in the early stages. Borden started to come into the game and created several half chances but after 40 minutes Guru Nanak took the lead when a forward was given too much room in converting a cross. Borden really took the initiative in the second half with Paul Teague outstanding in midfield and Nick Fuller having an outstanding game at centre half. They had several chances to equalize but with time running out they got the break they deserved when Sam Brown converted a Steve Collar cross to take a share of the points. Borden face a tough task next week when they visit last season’s champions, Metrogas.
