Match Report - 22 Mar 2014, Borden Village FC 1st XI drew with Park Regis
Borden picked up a point in a keenly contested local derby with an equaliser in added time in this Haart of Kent County League Division One East game. Borden had a bad start and found themselves 2-0 down after 10 minutes. The first converted from a long throw and the second scored direct from a corner. It took 30 minutes for Borden to have a shot on goal when Paul Teague went close from outside the area and they then started to take control of the game till half time. Half way through the second half their task became even harder when they were reduced to nine men within a five minute period when Steve Collar and Ben Taylor were sent off after two yellow cards. Despite the set back, Borden continued to press with Park Regis dangerous in breakaways. Then 15 minutes from the end Ashley Baverstock scored from close range to reduce the arrears and give Borden hope of gaining at least a point. Borden continued to go forward but were then reduced to eight men when Michael Green was harshly sent off but they fought hard despite their reduced numbers and were rewarded in added time when sub Liam Baxendale equalised with a close range header after the Regis keeper dropped the ball from a corner.
