Match Report

Match Report - 14 Dec 2013, Borden Village FC Reserves lost to Little Sharsted

Another derby and Borden looked to avenge the defeat against the
same opposition only 2 weeks ago. We came flying out of the blocks
with Kemsley proving a real menace up front and Ward and Rodgers
working well down the flanks. Sandy looked dominant at the back and
after great build up play Ward laid off for Hudson to slot home and give
us the lead. Borden continued to dominance and an exquisite pass from
Rodgers sent Kemsley through and he finished with aplomb. Borden
finished the half with complete domination and an excelent first half
display.
Half time: 0-2
The second half was a complete role reversal of the first half with
Borden chasing shadows around the pitch. It looked like a totally
different team with indecision costing the first replied goal and then
some woeful defending allowing them to equalise with only 20 minutes
gone in the second half. Borden we're all over the place and with not
long left on the clock all the hard work in the first half was undone when
Sharsted equalised when their defender lost his marker to nod home
from close range. This result was sickening and unbelievable after the
first half performance. Strong words followed and hopefully things can
turn around soon.
Full Time: 3-2
Man of the Match: Jim Rodgers
