Match Report

Match Report - 07 Dec 2013, Borden Village FC Reserves drew with Bromley Green Reserves

With a depleted squad and a return for stalwart Ryan Thompson today
was going to be a tough task. We was hoping to avenge the poor
performance of last week. The village again started brightly with Ward
looking to turn the defenders and Thompson breaking up the opponents
plays. Dennis was looking to take his training form into game time with
some nice touches and passes. Borden opened the scoring after some
great wide play from Ward cutting back for Kemsley to smash the ball
into the bottom corner. This was no more thane Borden deserved.
Borden ended the half dominant but unable to take their chances.
Half Time: 1-0
Again Borden started poorly allowing the opponents a couple of testers
at goal but Neat stopped them well and some great defence from
Blackwell and Peters. Ward and Kemsley combined again sending Ward
clean through and looking to put the game to bed but his effort
cannoned back off the post. So unlucky. This seemed to kick Bromley
Green into gear and the started to apply pressure. Then a free kick that
was over hit caught Neat out as he came to collect the cross and the ball
drifted over him into the net. Both teams battled hard for the victory but it
was to no avail and the game ended all square.
Full time: 1-1
Man of the Match: Charlie Ward
