Match Report - 07 Dec 2013, Borden Village FC 1st XI beat New Romney
Borden went into the game on the back of six consecutive wins but left it late to claim the points away at New Romney. Straight from the kick off the visitors had the home side on their back foot and for long periods of the first half claimed territorial advantage but failed to penetrate the home defence despite creating a number of half chances. George Latham had a goal bound shot blocked and Paul Teague went close but was denied by the woodwork. The second period again belonged to Borden with the home side responding on the counter attack. Borden’s defence held firm and with time running out and just minutes remaining their persistence finally paid off when Steve Collar combined with Ross Frost to put in Paul Teague who scored the winner to push his side up to fourth in the table.
