Match Report - 30 Nov 2013, Borden Village FC Reserves lost to Little Sharsted

Another local derby meant Borden looking to gain some bragging rights
and try to kick start a run after the result last week. The village started
well creating chances through Kemsley and Baverstock. Borden duly
took the lead when a long throw from Kemsley was flicked on at the near
post by Baverstock and sneaking past his brother in the opposition goal.
Not long after Borden had a chance to extend their lead when Hudson
was taken out in the box but Baverstock saw his poor penalty saved. To
rub salt into the wounds Little Sharsted went up the other end to
equalise just before half time.
Half Time: 1-1
The second half saw Sharsted come out and dominate a poor Village
effort. This inspired Sharsted into converting another 2 chances to go
3-1. This led to frustration and indiscipline in the Borden team with a
spattering of yellow However the inspiring Howe dragged his side back
into the game after a great 1-2 with Kemsley before rifling the ball into
the roof of the net. This gave Village a chance but we just couldn't get
the equaliser we needed. Little Sharsted ran out deserved 3-2 leaders.
Disappointing result.
Full Time: 2-3
Man of the Match: Ryan Howe
